Spring 2015 Newsletter
Well it’s finally warming up in the city. It took awhile for all that snow to melt, but now we’re onto Spring, baseball, outdoor concerts, and of course continuing to provide our clients with top of the line gear and rehearsal accommodations. 2015 has gotten off to a great start. We’ve been fortunate to cater to some very exciting artists and supply them with awesome gear. Carrolls is proud of our longstanding place in the industry going back to our founding in 1945. As always, our friendly staff is here to help you with your rehearsal needs or equipment rentals, no matter how large or small.
We had some major star power in for rehearsals in late February when Rihanna and her excellent crew were in for 3 days prior to them traveling to the Brit Awards.
For just about 2 weeks, we were super psyched to have members of Phish in for rehearsals in March. Look out for them on tour this Summer!
It was such a privilege to have in Jazz powerhouse, pianist McCoy Tyner, in for rehearsals in late January. Well known for his ultra successful solo career as well as his long time partnership with fellow Jazz Goliath, John Coltrane, this living legend was sounding as good as ever in Studio 2!
March is a heavy hitting month for Broadway rehearsals. We were very happy to have in a slew of great shows in including Dr. Zhivago, Finding Neverland, Paint Your Wagon, Thank Heaven!, Lady Be Good!, and The Visit.
Other notable artists that we’ve catered to so far in 2015 include Dame Shirley Bassey, Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Fela!, Max Weinberg, Eddie Palmieri, Macy Gray, David Byrne, Patti LuPone, and the Beach Boys!
New Gear Spotlight
Already one of the largest timpani rental companies in the Tri-State area, we’ve added a brand new set of Yamaha 7300 hand hammered timps. Make sure and take these bad boys for a spin on your next gig or rehearsal here in our studios. They are super professional and sound phenomenal!
We’ve added a brand new Takamine TC132SC classical nylon string guitar to our inventory. This super smooth easy to play guitar features a rosewood fingerboard, solid cedar top, and electronic tone control and a built in chromatic tuner.
Fresh out of the box, this classic, tri-colored Sunburst, American made Fender P Bass is ready for action. It has a maple neck and of course 2 signature split single coil pickups that give it its classic tone. Give us a call at Carroll’s when you need to bring the thunder!
